General Guidelines During Emergency

DOs

  • Know how to identify and respond to a leak or rupture.
  • Don't be panic, keep cool.
  • If any gas leakage is reported, move either side perpendicularly to wind direction towards a safe place.
  • Keep a wet cloth on the nose and breathe normally.
  • Immediately extinguish the fire in sigri, chulha or bhatti with water in and around the house.
  • Immediately put off any open flame like candle, lantern, heater etc.
  • If evacuation is called for, lock the house and be ready.
  • Free your domestic animals.
  • Help the fire fighting team and emergency staff and keep the situation under control.
  • Listen carefully to the announcements in your area and follow the instructions.
  • Ensure the safety of your family, employees and protect your property.

DON'Ts

  • Do not put 'ON' or 'OFF' on any electric switch. If any electric switch is 'ON', keep it in 'ON' position only.
  • Do not smoke and do not allow anybody to smoke.
  • Do not pay any attention to rumours and also do not spread any rumours.
  • Do not use any personal vehicle.
  • Do not block any public road.
  • During an emergency situation, do not unnecessarily talk on the phone.
